I will be teaching on The Photogaphers Place Workshop on the 6th-8th May.
THE SHAPE OF THE WEEKEND
The weekend is intended as an immersion in landscape photography for those who have gone beyond the beginners’ stage and want to learn more about making photographs from an aesthetic as well as from a technical point of view.
The Friday evening session will include a presentation by course leaders followed by opportunity to see samples of work from the group members. You are invited to bring along 2 or 3 of your own edited digital photographs as jpeg files on a memory stick to be shown on a data projector (or prints if you prefer).
Saturday morning will begin with a short session on how to improve your digital capture, understanding histograms and exposures. Then we go out on field trips into the countryside around Ilam, which includes one of Lord Byron’s favourite beauty spots – Dovedale – with one of the course leaders. Groups will be no more than seven people per tutor. At the end of the day there will be an open feedback session in the seminar room after dinner on your selection of images made during the day.
On Sunday there will be a choice of activity: going out to put some of your feedback advice into practise, gathering for a session on post production and publishing photos or getting a portfolio review with Paul Hill. There will be a further ‘wrap up’ session in the seminar room during afternoon tea. We anticipate the weekend finishing at around 4pm.
Fees: £325 including all tuition and 2 nights full board. For more details check out The Photographers Place
